Case Studies

Forest School training had been on my radar and wish list for professional development for a while. The draw to Forest School has its roots in my own passion for the environment and learning outdoors with children. So when I found out about training locally, I took the opportunity with both hands. I had just accepted a job as a TA in a Reception class after having worked as a childminder and in a nursery. I had high expectations of the course, hoping it would give me the teaching tools to offer children in the Reception classes more and opportunities for outdoor play and learning.

What a fantastic course.  Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and the facilities that were offered were good. Chris was an outstanding teacher, very friendly and approachable.

Thank you so much Chris.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the training you provided and want to extend a huge thank you to you and your team.

I know that we completed our evaluation forms today but I just wanted to personally say a big thank you for the last four Mondays!

When I was asked if I wanted to do the Forest School course, I was apprehensive of how much work it was going to be as I am also doing another level 3 course, but after the first session with Chris I was relieved that she was so helpful in breaking it down and alleviating those initial fears.

I was very apprehensive at the beginning of the course, although I relish the outdoors; I thought the assignments may get the better of me.

HB began coming to Forest school in the summer term. He struggles with concentrating, listening, communicating and his speech is a little delayed.

Chris and Wendi,

I just wanted to drop you both an email to say a big 'Thank you' for a fantastic week at St Paulinus Primary.

First day of my forest school course, I'm really nervous am I going to find the children's centre? What will I be doing?

Forest School represented an ideal vehicle for me to develop my real passion for learning outdoors and enabling children to access, experience, and enjoy all that nature has to offer right on their doorsteps. I recognize that I was coming to the course with a lot of ideals:
