Forest School Learning Initiative celebrates tenth anniversary!
We reached a very notable milestone this month when we celebrated our tenth anniversary - although we didn't have time for a party! However, we did issue a press release and this resulted in some very nice coverage in the local media. The full text from the press release is reproduced below, please feel free to share it, and for more information about Forest School Learning Initiative please contact Christina Dee at firstname.lastname@example.org or the FSLI office on 01242 602476, email email@example.com.
MEDIA RELEASE – September 2017
Winchcombe based Forest School Learning Initiative celebrates tenth anniversary!
A successful Gloucestershire business reaches a notable milestone this September when Forest School Learning Initiative (FSLI) celebrates their tenth anniversary!
Founded by Christina Dee and based in Winchcombe, FSLI was officially recognised as a Forest School training provider by NOCN (previously the National Open College Network) in 2007 and has expanded at a rapid rate ever since.
Chris commented, “I can't believe FSLI is ten years old. Our ethos has always been to ensure high quality Forest School provision to as many children as possible, originally by providing sessions for children and subsequently providing Level 3 Forest School Leader training”.
She continued, “At the very beginning we did a session a week in a local school, now we provide sessions for 600 children per week and we train in around 15 venues in the UK. We also train in Australia (Brisbane) and China, and we have plans in the pipeline to hold training sessions in New Zealand and Malaysia. The plans are at an advanced stage and we are hoping to make our first visit to New Zealand in October”.
Chris is also very proud of the fact that FSLI trains 300 adult students per year and remarked, “This is only possible because we have the most amazing team at FSLI, some of whom have been with me almost from the very beginning”.
Chris reached a significant milestone of her own in August when she celebrated a very ‘special’ birthday, but there are no plans to slow down. In fact, she is relishing the next ten years and said, “It’s been a whirlwind first ten years and as the business continues to grow I’m really excited about the next ten years. My son, Rob qualified as a Forest School Leader two years ago and he is taking an ever increasing role in the Company”.
If the next ten years are as exciting as the first ten then the FSLI team will have lots to look forward to.
